Response to COVID-19 Shelter in Place Order in Georgia

To My Beloved Church Family:

It is with careful consideration that I address you both collectively and individually.

Many of you are aware that we are facing a pandemic that has ravaged the world, our Nation and our State of Georgia.  This past week Governor Kemp has made an unprecedented politically driven decision to defy the shelter in Place Order given by the medical professionals and guidelines of the White House. He approved the reopening of small businesses, which also includes Houses of Worship.

As your spiritual leader, I have discussed this matter with the Pastoral Team and with prayerful consideration I have decided that for the health and safety of the congregation we will continue to observe the Shelter in Place Order to avoid the spread of this deadly virus, called Covid-19.

The Atlanta Berean SDA Church Pastoral Team is complying with the recommendation of the South Atlantic Conference. Hence, we will remain closed until we feel that it is safe for us to return to church for corporate worship. We will keep you informed as to the earliest date of our re-opening.

May God continue to watch over us and keep us faithful. We will continue to live stream our services on Wednesdays from 7-8 pm, and on Sabbath from 11am – 12 noon, for the safety and blessings of the congregants.

Jesus has promised to be with us until the end, so stay strong and remain faithful in the power of His Might.

Yours Truly,

Pastor Sherwin Jack

Church Survey on the effects of the COVID-19

The coronavirus COVID-19 crept into our world a few weeks ago and changed the way we are able to fellowship and worship together. Although we have been working on ways to still provide online church services in the midst of widespread lockdown and social distancing requirements, we also still want to connect with each of you.  Your pastoral team misses you, are concerned about you and wanted to check on you.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete this quick survey TODAY to let us hear from you. It’s an opportunity to also let us know if you have any issues/concerns you would like to share.

Hang in there and remember that God has promised “I will never leave you nor forsake you”.

Take care and look forward to hearing from you.

Berean Youth & Young Adults

This COVID-19 has changed our lives as we know it to be. With everything that’s going on around us it’s good to know that our Heavenly Father still remains the same. He is still consistent, omnipresent and omnipotent!

We know that for specifically our young adults and youth, socialization is important. Being around family, friends or even being in school or church is something that makes most of us comfortable. Or it’s just simply familiar. Social distancing is pretty hard. For seniors in high school or even college, dealing with the very real possibility of not being able to physically graduate, it’s especially difficult. In actuality, this entire ordeal is a difficult reality to face. However, in spite of these circumstances God is still in control and we are here constantly praying for our Berean Family, young and old alike.

I would like to encourage each and every one of you to take this time as a time of reflection. Take this time to grow spiritually and to grow closer to God. Talk to him tell him what’s on your hearts and minds and don’t be afraid to do so. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus! Never give up or give in ! Trust and believe that no matter what we can always depend on him.

If anyone is need of prayer or just need an ear to listen I am here.

Edward

God Bless

Pastor Edward Simmons
