Baby Blessing

Baby Blessing at Berean SDA Church

We are excited that you are considering having your baby’s dedication ceremony at Berean SDA Church.

As Christians we believe that “It takes a village to raise a child”. Community, support, and trust in God are a huge part of successful parenting. That is why we offer parents an opportunity to have a baby dedication for their child.

What is a baby dedication?

A baby dedication is a public ceremony symbolizing a parent’s commitment to raise their child knowing the Lord. The congregation also commits to help guide the child in the ways of God and to show him or her the joy of the love of Jesus.

What to expect?

In a baby dedication the legal guardians of the child publicly declare their intentions to raise their child knowing the Lord, to dedicate this child’s life and purpose to God, and to continuously seek God’s wisdom to guide their family.  During the service the congregation is charged to also care for the child and represent Christ to them. In this way the child’s upbringing is dedicated to the Lord both for their guardians and their church family. You will receive a keepsake certificate commemorating the dedication ceremony.

Do I have to be a member to dedicate my baby?

No. You do not need to be a member of our church family in order to bless your baby in our sanctuary. We believe a baby dedication in part of the parents to begin the child up in love and serve the Lord.

Can I have an outside pastor perform the dedication?

Yes. Along with our senior pastor, you may have any minister of your choosing perform the baby dedication with our pastoral staff.

What to do

Special effort is taken to accommodate the requests of the family, please complete the baby dedication form, and someone from our clerks team will connect you to arrange a date for this very special public promise.

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.

1 Samuel 1:27, 28 New International Version (NIV)
